Asus ROG Ally – Best Handheld Gaming Device
While this is a handheld device, the ROG Ally brings AMD’s latest Ryzen Z1 series of APUs. The base version has a 6-core 12-thread Zen4 CPU and 4 CU RDNA3 GPU. On the other hand, the Z1 Extreme has an 8-core 16-thread CPU and 12 CU GPU. Apart from the APU, there are little to no differences between the 2 variants as they get the same 16GB 6400MHz LPDDR5 memory and 512GB Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD storage.
Furthermore, it comes with 3 modes. The Silent mode targets 10W, and the Performance mode targets 15W. The Turbo mode works at 25W on battery but switches to the 30W mode when plugged into a power adapter rated for 65W or higher.
