The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and the Madhya Pradesh government jointly own Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL). In order to build and manage the 750 MW Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Power Project (Rewa UMSPP), it was incorporated in 2015.
One of the biggest single-site solar power plants in the world is the Rewa UMSPP. It is located in the Gurh tehsil of the Rewa district in Madhya Pradesh, India, and spans 6.4 km2. The project is currently operating, having been put into commission in January 2020. Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL), a state-owned distribution company, and Delhi Metro Corporation Limited (DMRC) have been receiving economical and clean electricity from the Rewa solar PV plant.
