The Prado Museum
The Prado Museum is formally known as the Museo Nacional del Prado. It is the primary Spanish national art museum, located in central Madrid. It houses European art collections ranging from the 12th century to the early twentieth century, including the former Spanish royal collection and the single best collection of Spanish art. It was founded in 1819 as a painting and sculpture museum.
