Acquisition by Google
In 2014 Google saw the great future that DeepMind had and therefore acquired the company for a whopping $500 million. Indeed, this deal was a crucial event in AI history that allowed DeepMind to leverage Google’s extensive resources and computing power, thus enabling them to advance their research and development projects at a previously unimaginable scale.
Through Google’s partnership, DeepMind found itself in a unique position to take advantage of an abundance of skills, data, and computing power available. Such a symbiotic relationship enabled DeepMind to break some new grounds in AI even more, allowing Google to expand its areas of expertise which include cloud computing, data storage, and machine learning infrastructure.
What is DeepMind and How does it Work
In the dramatic technology foundation, few transformations have stirred the imagination of the world as deep as Artificial Intelligence (AI). Not only science fiction but also AI turned out to be one of the key drivers of industry change with its ability to solve the most complex problems and to move forward in the quest of human knowledge. In the arms race dubbed AI revolution, Google DeepMind, a pioneer in the field, stands out, as it has been performing at the highest level and continues to strive for human-like AI systems.
