Activities of Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSRI)
The following are the activities that are supported under the Cognitive Science Research Initiative:
- Post-Doctoral Fellowship: The 2 years fellowship programme is aimed at developing humankind resource in the field of cognitive science. This scheme gives a chance to young scientists below 40 years to pursue innovative research in areas of cognitive science.
- Individual R&D projects: A grant is available for this project in any of the thrust region. A support of an equipments, manpower and other research grant is provided.
- Multi-centric Mega Projects: This project is aimed to provide better solution of problems related with social relevance, better knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases and their therapeutics.
- Support for Schools, Training, Workshops, Conferences, etc: The CSRI programme gives partial support for organizing conference, seminars, training programmes, workshops, on a selective basis. This support is provided to research institutions or academics, universities and another professional bodies to cheer young researchers. By doing this it will increase the developmemt in cognitive science research and keep scientific community abreast in latest growth in every areas coagnitive science.
Cognitive Science Research Initiative (CSRI) – Full form, History and Objectives
Cognitive Science Research Initiative is the full form of CSRI. The Cognitive Science Research Initiative aims to understand the principles of intelligence. Cognitive science is a scientific study of the mind. It shows how the mind represents and manipulates knowledge. Ulric Richard Gustav Neisser is known as the father of cognitive science. He researches and gives written text about perception and memory. The Department of Science and Technology began a highly focus programme known as CSRI in the year 2008 during the 11th five-year plan.
