Android Users Can Expect the Feature Soon
While the new feature is presently exclusive to iOS users, WhatsApp plans to make it available for Android users in the near future. Stay tuned for upcoming updates.
WhatsApp Introduces Email Verification for iPhone Users
WhatsApp now lets iPhone users verify their accounts using an email address, adding an extra layer of security besides the usual phone number and OTP method.
WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, has recently rolled out a brand new feature that allows users to associate an email address with their accounts. This exciting development aims to enhance user convenience and accessibility. The feature, currently available for iPhone users in the app version 23.24.70, offers an alternative login method for situations where users may experience temporary difficulties in receiving the traditional 6-digit code via SMS.
To access this new feature, users can simply navigate to WhatsApp Settings and select the Account option. It’s important to note that while an email address can now be linked to an account, a phone number is still necessary for creating an account. WhatsApp is not replacing phone numbers with email addresses; instead, this feature provides users with an additional means of access.
