Bird Skeleton Wings
It is one of the most amazing abilities that birds have adopted to fly. This ability helps them to create lift and maintain the flight constantly. With this adaption, their skeleton structure became changed over time.
- The forelimbs has been modified into two wings. These are the only organ by which birds can fly.
- They consist of bones,muscles, nerves, feathers, and blood vessels.
- Aves have specialized forelimbs to fly.
- Wings help them to lift their whole body and also contribute to maintaining flight.
- The shape of the wing is important to determine the flight capabilities.
- Birds wings generally divided into four types including elliptical wings, high-speed wings, high aspect ratio wings, and soaring wings with slots.
Birds Skeletal System
The skeletal system of birds is unique and pneumatic. The scientific name for birds is Aves. They are warm-blooded vertebrates that belong to the Animalia kingdom. The Aves class can be divided further into two major categories Archaeornithes (Ancient Birds) and Neornithes (Modern Birds). The Archaeornithes are a set of extinct groups of birds that had a beak with teeth and a long lizard-like tail. On the other hand, Neornithes groups do not contain any teeth and have a short tail.
