Constitution Day 2023 India
Constitution Day is also known as Law Day. This year Constitution Day in India is was observed on 26th November. The year marks the 132nd birth anniversary of Ambedkar, who was the chairman of the Drafting Committee of the Constituent Assembly and played a vital role in the drafting of the Constitution. Previously this day was celebrated as Law Day. In 2015 the government of India modified Law Day in the gazette notification and it has been called Constitution Day. In 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that 26th November would be observed as Constitution Day in India.

Constitution Day is celebrated on the 26th of November every year. On 26th November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India. The Constitution came into force on 26 January 1950. Constitution Day is also known as the ‘Samvidhan Divas‘.
