Creating a Quiz with Sections and Individual Scores

You can assign point values to Google Forms quiz questions to calculate the total score but can’t determine individual section scores. Use the Scorecery addon for score calculations.

Step 1: Open the Google Forms

Open Google Forms. Add Short Answer questions with number validation. Include in each section and for total score calculation.

Step 2: Choose the Scorecery option

Click the Add-on icon, then choose Scorecery.

Step 3: Click More options

Display the Scorecery menu and select More options.

Step 4: Click on the Customize option

Display the sidebar widget, then click Customize.

Point to Remember
Assign various points to answer choices in different question types; repeat steps 5 & 6 for all form questions.

Step 5: Click on the menu icon

On the Edit page, click the menu icon next to the question.

Step 6: Click on the Answer option

Display question settings page, click Answer, assign points to answer choices, then Save.

Step 7: Choose Calculate section score option

Click the Gear icon beside the Calculate section score question.

Step 8: Select the Calculate Formula

Use the POINTS(SECTION) formula on the question settings page in the Calculate option and Save.

Step 9: Go to Question settings

Click the Gear icon next to the section score question, go to the Question settings page, add the POINTS(SECTION) formula in Calculate, and then Save.

Step 10: Access Question settings

Click the gear icon next to the section score question, access Question settings, and add the POINTS(SECTION) formula in the Calculate option to save.

Point to Remember:

Use SUM() to add section scores for overall score calculation.

Step 11: Add the formula

Click the gear icon next to the overall score question, go to Question settings, add the SUM formula in the Calculate option, and then Save.
