Division by 5,25,50
We use this technique when we are dividing the number by 5, 25 and 50. We can use this technique for higher values of divisors like 500 or 5000. The steps to perform the division are as follows:
- As we all know
- 5 can be expressed as the division of 10 by 2
- 25 can be expressed as the division of 100 by 4
- 50 can be expressed as the division of 100 by 2
- Then we multiply it by 2 if the divisor is 5 or 50 or multiply it by 4 if the divisor is 25.
- After getting the result we divide it by 10 or 100.
- This will introduce a decimal point which will be our final answer.
The example is as follows:
Perform division 9999 by 25
In the above we expressed 25 as 100 divided by 4. After this we expressed 9999 as 10000-1 which is another Vedic Mathematics trick. Then we performed the mutiplication and divided the result by 100.
Multiplying by 5, 50, 25 – Vedic Maths
Vedic Maths comprises the most useful techniques that can be used to solve complicated problems. It comprises of tricks related to multiplication, addition, subtraction, division, and divisibility. Here we will mainly focus on Multiplication and Division by 5,25,50. Let us be familiar with some terms:
- Multiplicand: It is the number that is to be multiplied by the multiplier to get the product.
- Multiplier: It basically tells how many times the multiplicand is to be added to get the results.
- Dividend: It is the number which is to be divided
- Divisor: It actually tells how many equal parts of the dividend are to be made.
