- Mount Edith Cavell got its name from a British nurse named Edith Cavell. She was a really brave person who helped Allied soldiers get away from Belgium during World War I. Sadly, she was caught and executed for it. In 1916, the Geographical Names Board of Canada decided to name this mountain after her as a way to honor her bravery and sacrifice.
- On the mountain, there are lots of big chunks of ice called glaciers. One of them is called the Angel Glacier because it looks like an angel.
