First Chief Minister of West Bengal
Dr. Prafulla Chandra Ghosh was the first chief minister of West Bengal. He served as West Bengal CM from August 15, 1947, to August 14, 1948. He was born on December 24, 1891, in the modest village of Malikanda, which is currently located in Bangladesh.
He worked for three different West Bengal governments: the Indian National Congress-led Coalition Government, the Progressive Democratic Alliance Front, and the West Bengal National Congress. He served as Chief Minister for a second term, spanning from November 21, 1967, to February 19, 1968, completing a total of 250 days in office.
