How to Assign Duet AI Licenses
Once Duet AI is added to Google Workspace, users must be allowed to use it.
Step 1: Go to Admin Console
Find the Menu option in the Admin panel.
Step 2: Go to Directory and Click Users
Within the Menu, go to Directory and Click on Users to view the list of users.
Step 3: Select Users for Duet AI License Assignment
Choose the box next to each user you wish to assign a Duet AI license.
Step 4: Assigning Licences
To assign licences, go to the user’s list and click on the Assign button.
Step 5: Choose Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise
Choose Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise from the list of licence choices.
Step 6: Click Assign
Click the Assign button and allocate the Duet AI license to the selected users.
Note:
Activating the user’s Duet AI licence could take up to one day.
Licences may be assigned in three different ways:
- Licence to individual users.
- Licence all users in a CSV file.
- Licence all organizational users.
What the Duet AI side panel can do in Gmail, Google Drive, & Docs
Google is adding more AI to Workspace with the addition of Duet AI, a new contextual AI partner that works in real-time. You can now use this side panel functionality in the Workspace online applications. It lets you ask Duet to make presentations, email, and document summaries. The tool was first noticed at Google I/O in May and next in August at Cloud Next. Activated by hovering over a new pencil symbol next to your account avatar.
