How to Perform Data Validation
One of the most basic and common ways to use data is with spreadsheet programs like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. Both programs have a built-in data validation feature. In Excel and Sheets, you can find this feature under the menu item Data > Data Validation. By selecting Data Validation, users can choose the specific data type or constraint validation needed for a file or data range.
ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) and data integration tools also use data validation policies as data is extracted from one source and loaded into another. Popular open-source tools like dbt include data validation options and are commonly used for data transformation.
Data validation can also be done programmatically within an application for an input value. For example, when an input variable such as a password is sent, a script can check it to ensure it meets constraint validation for the correct length.

What is Data Validation?
Data Validation: Is a critical process in data management and data quality assurance. It involves verifying that the data being inputted or transferred from one system to another meets the required standards and criteria for accuracy, consistency, and completeness. This process ensures that the data used in business operations, decision-making, and analysis is reliable and error-free.
