- The idea for this day was conceived by Pet Sitters International (a pet-sitting organization).
- Aims to strengthen the bonds between dogs and their owners, and coworkers, as having dogs in the office could lead to having a good mood at the workplace.
- It is also known as Bring Your Pet to Work Day and encourages people who have dogs, to bring them to their workplace. And the ones who don’t have a dog, can bring their cats or other pets to the office.
