India Rank in World Happiness Index 2023
As per the report of the World Happiness Association to the latest World Happiness Index for 2023, Rank of India World Happiness Index 2023 is at 126th position among 150 countries, marking it as one of the least joyful nations globally. The report found that India’s low ranking is due to a number of factors, including:

- Poor health outcomes
- Low levels of social support
- Low levels of trust
- Low levels of generosity
The report also noted that India has been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has further exacerbated these challenges.
This ranking reflects the well-being and happiness levels among the Indian population. While there has been an improvement compared to the previous year’s 136th ranking, India still lags behind many other nations.
