Manhua origin is before the mahwa and just like manhwa it was initially used for the political propaganda. But the main problem for the manhua occurred due the heavy restrictions by the government after the Chinese revolution in 1949 which lead to the decline in the popularity of the manga. Since the launch of digital comic platform, it stared gaining popularity due to its easy accessibility to the fans worldwide.
