My preparation journey
My preparation journey for GUJCET began around four months before the exam date(in 2022). Initially, I wasn’t as serious about it, partly due to being unaware of the exam’s significance. The syllabus was similar to NCERT but at a higher difficulty level, which required me to step up my game. At first, I wasn’t solving many MCQs in subjects like Maths and Physics, but consistent practice gradually improved my confidence and accuracy.
As my board exams approached, I shifted my focus to them, but one week after their completion, the GUJCET was scheduled. This tight timeline meant I had only a week to refresh my preparation specifically for GUJCET. Fortunately, my coaching institute organized mock tests and special lectures during this period, which proved immensely helpful in revising key concepts and practicing MCQs.
On the day of the exam, a small hiccup occurred when I realized I had forgotten my calculator in the examination hall, leading to a brief moment of panic. However, I quickly improvised, using the resources I had at hand (money in my pocket and stationary nearby) to manage the situation. Once I settled in and started with the question paper, I felt a mix of nervousness and excitement. Completing the paper successfully brought a sense of relief and accomplishment, especially since it marked the beginning of official vacation.
Looking back, this journey taught me the importance of consistent preparation, adaptability in challenging situations, and the value of utilizing available resources effectively. It also highlighted the significance of being aware and proactive in planning and managing exam-related tasks.
