National Parties
National Parties are those political parties that secure six percent of the vote in the Lok Sabha or the Assembly elections. Those parties secure at least the four seats in Lok Sabha that are recognized as the national party. Every party in India has to register themselves under the Election Commission of India. The Election Commission treats all parties in an equal way and gives them the same facilities. The Election Commission of India gives them a unique symbol and the officials can use it. For this reason, these parties are also known as the “recognized political parties”. Till now there are six recognized national parties in India.
