The leading spokesman of Narmada Bachao Andolan was Medha Petkar and Baba Amte who received Right Livelihood Award in 1991. The campaign included court actions, strikes, and rallies and was joined by many NGOs with local people and activists. There were several groups supporting which included Gujarat-based Narmada Asargrastha Samithi, Maharashtra – based Narmada Dharangrastha Samiti, and so forth.

Narmada Bachao Andolan – NBA is an Indian social development driven by local clans, ranchers, tree huggers, and basic freedoms activists against the development of various enormous dams under the Narmada Dam Project across waterway Narmada. The stream Narmada moves through the territories of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. Have some familiarity with the Major Indian River System for applicable subtleties.
