Newland Reeves
Newland Reeves, the son of the legendary Bass Reeves, grew up in a family with a rich heritage of courage, resilience, and dedication to justice. As the progeny of one of the most revered lawmen in American history, Newland had significant shoes to fill and a legacy to uphold.
Newland was born into an era marked by significant social and political changes. Growing up, he was deeply influenced by his father’s stories of bravery and law enforcement. Bass Reeves, known for his extraordinary service as one of the first African American Deputy U.S. Marshals west of the Mississippi River, instilled in his children the values of integrity, hard work, and service to the community.
