Operations of Integers
A number line is a straight line showing the real numbers by successively placing the numbers on the line; the intervals between each one of the numbers are equal. The positive numbers are the numbers greater than zero and they appear to the right of the number line, while the negative numbers are the numbers smaller than zero and they are to the left of the number line. On the number line, zero stands as the central or prime point or position, then followed by numbers in the ascending order.
It is a straight line drawn horizontally where each figure is positioned concerning its dimensions; the bigger the figure, the further to the right on the line and the reverse for those which are smaller.
Operations of Integers
Operations with integers involve performing calculations with positive and negative whole numbers. Gaining an insight into these operations is very important for solving many mathematics problems and practical applications.
This article will focus on operations of integers starting from addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and illustrate through the use of a number line.
