Round 2: (Technical Interview) Duration: 70 minutes

The interviewer introduced herself to me. She asked for my introduction as well. After a brief introduction and project discussion, we dove straight into the Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concept. I was supposed to explain the OOPS concepts by implementing polymorphism, inheritance, abstraction, virtual function, etc. She asked few more follow-ups related to OOPs (like the significance of polymorphism, real-world use of OOPS, etc ) and I was able to answer all the follow-ups correctly.

Then, I was given a coding question to solve where I had to discuss the approach and write a neat code. I quickly came up with the optimal solution. I wrote the code within a few minutes as I was able to solve the problem optimally using set, map, and hashing algorithms. Then we deliberated on the time and space complexities of the optimal solution. I even dry-run through a test case.

Additionally, she tasked me with devising the most suitable data structure for certain scenarios and outlining the strategy for storing the data within that structure. She moved on to ask about different traversal techniques of graphs and trees and their real-life examples. The first question was on the Dijkstra Algorithm and the second one I didn’t remember.

Then, she asked some situation-based and behavioural questions.

Subsequently, The discussion moved on to Database Management Systems (DBMS), where I was questioned about some concepts. Next, I was asked to answer two SQL queries, one of medium difficulty and another slightly tricky.

After the lunch break, around 1 hour later I got to know that I was selected and my next round would be in 10 minutes!

After the first interview round, 14 students, including me, were shortlisted for the next interview stage.
