SAT Eligibility for Students with Disabilities 2024
Students with impairments who notify the College Board, the SAT’s governing body, in advance of their condition are eligible to take the test with additional accommodations designed to enhance their overall SAT experience. All additional conveniences, meanwhile, require prior approval from the College Board’s Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) unit. Both the SAT General and SAT Subject Tests can be taken using the impaired student facilities when they have been approved. Students don’t need to submit a fresh request for every SAT exam. Students should be aware that there are no set requirements for qualifying to take the SAT.
Facilities for students with disabilities include:
- Braille and large-print testing for applicants with visual impairments
- Allowance for extended time to finish the SAT
- Using a computer to write essays and such
- An allowance for additional breaks throughout the test
- Students with disabilities wouldn’t have any problems because all of the main SAT testing locations that permit students with impairments to take examinations there would be prepared to handle these applicants.
