Solution:
Cost of one pen = Rs.20
Cost of 8 pens = Rs.20 x 8 = Rs.160
Therefore, the cost of 8 pens are of 160 rs.
Example 2: Poonam makes 6 donuts per day. How many donuts does she make in 18 days? (Use table of 18)
Solution:
Poonam makes per day donuts = 6
Poonam makes total donuts in 18 days = 18 x 6= 108
Therefore, Donuts made in 18 days by Poonam are 108.
Example 3: Using the table of 11 simplify 16 times 7 minus 11 times 2.
Solution:
By studying the table of 11 we know that,
- 16 times 7 = 16 × 7 = 112
- 11 times 2 = 11 × 2 = 22
Now,
16 times 7 minus 11 times 2 = 16 × 7 – 11 × 2
= 112 – 22
= 90
Example 4: Using the table of 24 simplify 24 times 6 minus 12 times 4.
Solution:
By studying the table of 24 we know that,
- 24 times 6 = 24 × 6 = 144
- 12 times 4 = 12 × 4 = 48
Now,
24 times 6 minus 12 times 4 = 24 × 6 – 12 × 4
= 144 – 48
= 96
