System Requirements for RHEL 3
- Processor: RHEL supports a variety of Intel and AMD processors. The processor should be of 32-bit or 64-bit architecture. It is recommended to use Processors with a minimum 2GHz speed for better usability and reduced latency.
- RAM: The minimum required RAM is 1.5 GB for Local Installation and a minimum of 3 GB for Network devices. It is recommended to use a minimum of 4GB of RAM for better performance.
- Storage: To install RHEL in the computer we must have at least 10GB of un-portioned space. However, it is recommended to have a minimum of 50GB of free space for better operation. For Intel and AMD processors there should be two dedicated partitions for RHEL and for the IBM power system server, there should be three partitions. All standard storage types are supported.
- Display: The minimum display resolution required for installation is 800 x 600. However, for error-free operations and a better user experience, it is recommended to use a better-quality display of 1026 x 786px.
