The 10 Commandments List in Deuteronomy 5:6-21
Moses rehearsed the 10 commandments after the 40 years of meandering in the wild. There are a couple of changes in the phrasing from Exordus 20. These minor distinctions are tracked down in the Fourth, Fifth and tenth decrees:
- “I’m the Master your God, who rescued you once again from the place that is known for Egypt, out of the place of servitude. You will have no different divine beings before Me.”
- “You will not make for yourself a carved image — any resemblance of whatever is in paradise above, or that is in the earth underneath,or that is in the water under the earth; you will not do homage them nor serve them. For I, the Ruler your God, am a desirous God, visiting the wrongdoing of the dads upon the kids to the third and fourth ages of the people who disdain Me, yet having pity on thousands, to the individuals who love Me and keep My precepts”.
- “You will not take the name of the Master your God to no end, for the Ruler won’t hold him guiltless who maligns His name”.
- “Notice the Sabbath day, to keep it heavenly, as the Ruler your God directed you. Six days you will work and take care of every one of your responsibilities, however the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Ruler your God. In it you will accomplish no work: you, nor your child, nor your little girl, nor your male worker, nor your female worker, nor your bull, nor your donkey, nor any of your steers, nor your more abnormal who is inside your doors, that your male worker and your female worker might rest as well as you. Furthermore, recollect that you were a slave in the place that is known for Egypt, and the Master your God brought you out from that point by a powerful hand and by an outstretched arm; in this way the Ruler your God directed you to keep the day off.
- “Honor your father and your mother, as the Master your God has told you, that your days might be long, and that it could be well with you in the land which the Ruler your God is giving you.
- “You will not kill”.
- “You will not commit infidelity”.
- “You will not take”.
- “You will not bear false witness observer against your neighbor”.
- “You will not desire your neighbor’s significant other; and you will not want your neighbor’s home, his field, his male worker, his female worker, his bull, his jackass, or whatever is your neighbor’s.”
