Things that helped me in embracing the changes
Be extra Set yourself aside from the crowd.
You are already as different as you could be so learn a skill that will keep you aside from the people around you. If you are good at something, people will come to you and be your friends. It can be video editing, writing, or coding (most recommended).
Learn the native language
Calm down, you don’t have to spend hours or even any extra minute of your day memorizing the words and their meanings. Just be present in the moment. Recognize the words and use your common sense, make some translator friends and you are good to go.
Embrace your solitude
Embrace your solitude. Accept that your life has changed. It doesn’t have to be like this forever, but for now, it is. So, do whatever you can to make the most out of it. Referring to the article you sent before, facing challenges like cultural differences and homesickness can indeed make you feel lonely at times. However, by embracing your solitude, you can begin to navigate through these challenges and find opportunities for growth and self-discovery.
It is hard, it is frustrating, it is like torture when you are paying a huge amount of money and gaining nothing from the lectures. But you know what’s worse? Giving up. To give up the dreams you had when you sat on your first train or flight to this city. You owe that life to yourself. No matter which part of the country or world you are sent to, if you have that passion within you, you’ll be okay. Not suddenly, not magically, but with time, patience, faith, and constant efforts.
Things don’t get better, you do.
