Understanding SIH

Smart India Hackathon is a national-level competition where you can showcase your skills. But it’s not that easy, you need to be clear with what you will provide as a solution. The Smart India Hackathon (SIH) isn’t just a big event; it’s like an exciting trip that starts at your college and takes you all over the country to solve problems. Let’s break it down step by step:

1. Start at Your College: It all begins with small competitions at your college. These competitions are like the first step of your SIH adventure. Your college will pick the best 35 teams from these competitions.
2. Working with Companies: The real fun begins when your journey moves forward. The problems you’ll solve in SIH are sent to real companies. This is where your ideas meet real-life issues.
3. Getting Ready for the Big Show: Out of all the teams in the country, only a few get chosen for the final round. These special teams become the top contenders for the big finale. And guess what? The finale isn’t online—it’s in person, at different places across India.
4. The Big Day: Teams gather, excitement fills the air, and everyone’s pumped up. Your journey peaks at these big finales, where you present your solutions face-to-face with the companies that gave you the challenges.

My hackathon journey began when I entered my second year at CV Raman Global University, Bhubaneswar. In my first year at CV Raman Global University, I lacked knowledge about what exactly a hackathon was. Initially, I thought it was an event where you had to hack something, but all these misconceptions cleared up in my second year.
