What is JEE Advance and Main?
The Indian Institute of Technology annually organises the IIT Joint Entrance Exam in two sessions: Main and Advance. Through IIT JEE, selected aspirants are offered admission to engineering courses at India’s top technical institutions; the Indian Institute of Technology. Every year, around 1 million aspirants appear for this exam. JEE exams are conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). This exam offers admission to a total of 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 25 IIITs and other Central and State Government technical institutions. Admissions are given based on ranks scored by candidates in JEE Main and Advanced. A student who has completed 10+2 in the Science Stream can appear for JEE Main. Once qualified, they can appear for IIT Advanced.
