What is the Von Restorff Effect?
Where Von Restorff Effect also known as the Isolation Effect or the unusual Effect, experiences that stand out uniquely are what can be remembered by individuals rather than those that are common or alike. As a list is shown in front, a single item that is more interesting than its other competitors in a way that its color, size, shape, or any of its other distinctive characteristics sets it apart easily will be remembered among the other common stimuli.
The brain does it by creating a lobotomizing effect because it naturally prefers novelty and uses keener and thinking resources to those objects that seem to be more unusual than ordinary. Their particular nature helped to make them more vivid, the information which much more likely are to be remembered at memory at a later time.
