Who are the SIT members?
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is a team of investigators appointed by the Supreme Court of India, Union Government of India or state government to investigate serious crimes when the existing force is insufficient for the probe.
The members of an SIT are usually retired High Court or Supreme Court justices, with other members included according to the Code of Criminal Procedure. These members are known for their transparency and honesty in their judgments, and have helped a lot of people who were stuck in certain situations.
