The MIN function is a premade function in Google Sheets, which finds the lowest number in a range
The MIN function is a premade function in Google Sheets, which finds the lowest number in a range.
It is typed =MIN
and gets a list of cells:
=MIN(value1, [value2, ...])
You can select cells one by one, but also ranges, or even multiple ranges.
The function ignores cells with text. It will only work for cells with numbers.
Note: There is another function called =MAX
, which finds the highest value in a range, the opposite of MIN.
Let's have a look at an example!
Find the lowest total stats in the range C2:C21
:
G5
=MIN
C2:C21
for the Total stats valuesNow, the function returns the lowest value from the cells in the range:
200
. Magikarp has the lowest Total stats of the Pokemons in this list.
Let's add text to a cell in the range C2:C21
to see what happens. Type Kadabra into the cell C21
:
253
is returned as the new lowest value, as the old one was replaced with text. Rattata is now the Pokemon with the lowest Total stats in the range C2:C21
.
function copyFormulas(elementId){ /* Get the text field */ var copyText = document.getElementById(elementId); /* Select the text field */ copyText.select(); copyText.setSelectionRange(0, 99999); /* For mobile devices */ /* Copy the text inside the text field */ navigator.clipboard.writeText(copyText.value) .then(() => { alert('Range copied to clipboard.\nIt can now be pasted into the Google Sheets spreadsheet.') }) .catch((error) => { alert(`Copy failed! ${error}`) }) }
