Java void Keyword

Java Keywords : A method without any return values

Definition and Usage

The void keyword specifies that a method should not have a return value.

More Examples

Tip: If you want a method to return a value, you can use a primitive data type (such as int, char, etc.) instead of void, and use the return keyword inside the method:

Example

public class Main {
  static int myMethod(int x) {
    return 5 + x;
  }

  public static void main(String[] args) {
    System.out.println(myMethod(3));
  }
}
// Outputs 8 (5 + 3)
