PHP mysqli field_seek() Function

PHP MySQLi Reference : Set the field cursor to the second column ("Age") in the result-set, get field info with fetch_field(), then print the field's name, table, and max length

Definition and Usage

The field_seek() / mysqli_field_seek() function sets the field cursor to the given field offset.

Syntax

Object oriented style:

$mysqli_result -> field_seek(fieldnr)

Procedural style:

mysqli_field_seek(result, fieldnr)

Parameter Values

Parameter Description
result Required. Specifies a result set identifier returned by mysqli_query(), mysqli_store_result() or mysqli_use_result()
fieldnr Required. Specifies the field number. Must be an integer from 0 to number of fields-1

Return Value: TRUE on success. FALSE on failure

Example - Procedural style
