Michael Turner
Michael Turner, who was born in 1959 to Ike Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, was adopted by Tina Turner following her separation from Ike in 1978.
After the divorce, Michael faced challenges. According to Ike Jr., who is close to his younger brother, Michael wished for their parents to reconcile, leading to emotional distress and hospitalization.
As an adult, Michael struggled with addiction. Despite knowing that Tina and Ike would support him if he reached out, he felt unable to do so, expressing his desire for independence.
In recent years, Michael has faced health issues, including strokes and seizures, leaving him reliant on a wheelchair. Ike Jr. provided updates in 2017 and 2018, mentioning Michael’s residence in a care facility in Southern California and his need for ongoing medical care, although Tina has not visited him personally, she has supported him financially.

Tina Turner was a famous singer and actress known as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. She was born on November 26, 1939, in Nutbush, Tennessee. Tina became famous in the 1960s and 1970s for her powerful voice and energetic performances. She started her career with her first husband, Ike Turner, and they formed the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. They had many hits, including “Proud Mary” and “River Deep – Mountain High.“
Tina, who died in May 2023 at the age of 83 after a “long illness,” had her first son, Raymond Craig, with Kings of Rhythm saxophonist Raymond Hill in August 1958. Raymond was later adopted by Tina’s first husband, Ike Turner Sr., and his name was changed to Craig Raymond Turner.
Tina also adopted Ike’s two sons, Ike Jr. and Michael, from his previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor. Tina and Ike had one child together, Ronnie Turner, born in October 1960.
In her 2018 memoir, My Love Story: Tina Turner, Tina talked about her ex-husband’s “brutality” and mentioned that the children heard their “endless fighting.”
Craig died by suicide in July 2018. Four years later, Ronnie died of colon cancer.
