The SUMIF function in Excel adds all numbers in a range that meet a specific criterion. We can use it by using the following syntax: SUMIF(range, criteria, [sum_range]).

  • range: the cells you evaluate with the criteria.
  • criteria: the condition that determines which cells to add.
  • sum_range (optional): the cells to sum. If omitted, Excel sums the cells in range.
